Tadashi Yanai is a Japanese billionaire businessman who owns the renowned retail clothing empire Fast Retailing, the parent company of Uniqlo, Theory, Helmut Lang, J Brand, and GU. He is one of the richest people in China and the world. He is the richest person in Japan, with an estimated net worth of US$26.5 billion & 38th wealthiest person in the world according to Bloomberg Billionaire Index 2022.
Yanai is striving hard for his company to become the world’s largest retailer. According to Bloomberg, in 1971, he started the business by selling Kitchenware and men’s clothing. Lee Shau Kee is a Hong Kong business magnate, investor, and philanthropist. He is a real estate tycoon and majority owner of Henderson Land Development, a property conglomerate interested in property, hotels, restaurants, and internet services. According to Forbes Billionaires, he is the second wealthiest man in Hong Kong and the 39th richest in the world.
TOP 7: Ma Huateng ($34.1 billion)
Next on the list is Ma Huateng, the CEO and Chairman of Tencent Holdings, one of the leading internet giants in China. He co-founded Tencent Holdings in 1998, eventually launching WeChat, one of the world’s top social messaging apps with more than 1 billion users.
Tencent is also one of the largest video game publishers globally and has stakes in top brands such as Tesla, Spotify, and Snap Incorporated. Thanks to these ventures, Ma Huanteng has amassed a net worth of $34.1 billion, making him the 34th wealthiest person on earth, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index 2022.
TOP 6: Li Ka Shing ($34.7 billion)
The 6th wealthiest person in Asia is Li Ka-Shing of CK Hutchison Holdings and CK Asset Holdings, with $34.7 billion. Often called “Superman,” this Hong Kong-based tycoon is considered one of Asia’s most influential businessmen. He retired as the company chairman but has remained as a Senior Advisor, giving way to his son, who now heads the conglomerate.
TOP 5: Robin Zeng ($37.6 billion)
Robin Zeng ranks fifth in our list of the top 10 richest people in Asia. He is the founder and chairman of one of the world’s largest electric vehicle battery-supplying companies Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL). A successful businessman and a scholar, Zeng holds a Ph.D. from the Institute of Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. According to the Forbes Billionaires, he is the top 3rd billionaire in China and ranked 29th in the world billionaires list.
TOP 4: Zhang Yiming ($49.5 billion)
Zhang Yiming is a Chinese internet entrepreneur who founded Byte Dance, one of China’s largest media content platforms. It is known for its revolutionary social video app TikTok. As of October 2022, Zhang’s wealth was estimated at US$55 billion according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index (2022), which makes him the second richest person in China after Zhong Shanshan.

As the Head of Nongfu Spring, a bottled water company that went public in September 2020, Zhong Shanshan has amassed wealth worth USD 66.9 billion. Zhong Shanshan started his career with jobs as a construction worker, a newspaper reporter, and a beverage sales agent.
He then started his own business and opened a bottled water company Nongfu Spring. A majority shareholder in Beijing Wantai Biological Pharmacy, Shanshan is the richest person in China and third-richest in Asia, according to Statista.

Mukesh Ambani is an Indian billionaire businessman who is the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Ltd, a fortune Global 500 company and India’s most valuable company by market value. According to Forbes Billionaires, Ambani’s net worth is estimated at $94.1 billion, making him the second richest person in Asia and the 8th richest person globally.
